We fancied a short break away from Kyrenia area and settled on this hotel. Good road all the way and easy to find off the main highway. “Karpaz Gate Marina Hotel overnight stay”

Went with family for 1 night, staying in the hotel, and using the beach club facilities on both days. Hotel was nice, modern, and very clean. The bed was really comfy giving me a great nights sleep. The shower area was amazing, highlight of the trip for me! The beach club area was nice too, lots of beds good facilities nearby. My only criticism is the shallow pool - this seems to be a theme in North Cyprus where all the pools are really shallow. The WiFi was really terrible. I could barely get a working signal, and had to use my Turkish data plan for most of the trip which was very annoying as I only had 5GB of data for a 2 week holiday. Unfortunately the food was just really bad all round. Hemingways was very poor and I would caution anyone against eating there if you have the choice. I had the Pizza for dinner which was not very nice, I couldn’t finish it. My dad had the soup to start which was cold at first and had to be sent back to get it hotter, then they sent my dads burger out while he was still eating his re-heated soup. The burger was sent back and brought back out 10-15 mins later re-heated in the microwave but the chips were stone-cold. They made new chipa and send them out 5 mins later. My mum and penne pasta which was quite nice, if nothing particularly special. Breakfast was an absolute tragedy. The food options were lacking, and the food available was really horrible. Stale/tough bread, tasteless pancakes, sausages which were actually hotdogs (possibly frozen ones), cold and very tough Halloumi - the Halloumi was like eating the sole of your shoes. As a Halloumi lover, I was bitterly dissapointed. I could go on but the whole food experience was just horrendous. The staff are very nice and polite. However, food service is extremely slow for no clear reason. If you want a can of juice, be prepared to wait 10-15 mins. I have no idea where the store the stuff! Would I go back? For a day trip, without eating, yes. Overnight? No, as there aren’t any other food options nearby to my knowledge, it’s fairly isolated and the food is so poor.
