Great room we were lucky enough to get a corner one with views right around the sea every aspect had something a bit different. Hotel isn’t near the Tongyeong town 10 mins by taxi but we were there to watch a triathlon and that was perfect as from the hotel you could see the racing. Didn’t eat at the restaurant but the cafe inside the lobby had lovely food and great coffee. We didn’t do the luge off gondola their was also a ferry that took you around the islands which we will do if we ever go back

I thoroughly enjoyed my 3-night stay at the Stanford Hotel & Resort. I had an ocean-view room with a gorgeous view of the water and nearby islands, and it was a delight to watch the fishing ships heading out to see each night and returning at dawn. The room had a balcony, a comfortable queen-sized bed, shower and bathtub, separate sink, mini-fridge, electric kettle for boiling water, an armchair and small table, and a desk with its own lamp and chair. Room amenities included a decent-sized TV, hair drier, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, 2 robes, and slippers. The small hotel fitness center is free for guests and includes 2 treadmills (only one was working while I was at the hotel), 2 upright bicycles, a padded mat, some dumbells, and a couple of weightlifting options. (No towels are provided, but there is a water dispenser.) (BYO lotion, combs, toothpaste, Q-tips, and other toiletries.) While all these included features are very nice, everything else costs extra. The hotel has an outdoor infinity pool + 2 hot tubs on the top floor (10,000 won for adults; bathing caps must be worn; towel rental costs extra) and a sauna in the basement (6,000 won for adults). The buffet breakfast is overpriced at 27,000 won for adult guests (I thought it was worth 10,000-15,000 won, maximum; maybe try it on your first morning and see if you think it's worth the cost). The hotel also has its own coffee shop and bakery, but the drinks and baked goods are a few thousand won more expensive than they are in most Korean coffee shops/bakeries. Fortunately, it's a short (~5 minutes) walk to the nearest coffee shop (Ediya; opens at 9 a.m. most days). Also nearby are a variety of Korean restaurants, mostly seafood-oriented, but Coupang Eats also delivers to the hotel (usually for a small fee). There's a CU convenience store in the harbor area as well as in the hotel basement; the hotel's CU doesn't seem to offer the same deals as other CU stores, so you might wish to head to the harbor CU to buy your own wine (+ opener) if you're interested in saving a little money. (Wine and beer are also sold by the hotel's restaurant if you're interested in more expensive options.) Running past the hotel is a lovely coastal walking path (~4 km total) that leads to the harbor in one direction; in the other direction, it passes a small beach area, leads around the tip of this little peninsula, and eventually terminates in another beautiful seaside neighborhood. The nearby cable car (tram to a peak with an overview of Tongyeong and surrounding islands; 14,000 won for adults) is well worth a visit on a clear day, and it's within walking distance of the hotel (~2 km away, mostly on a slight incline; a taxi from the hotel costs 4,000 won). All in all, I definitely look forward to staying here again! The hotel is clean and comfortable, the views are stunning (it's well worth paying a little extra for the ocean-view rooms!), and it's a reasonable taxi ride from the bus terminal (~12,000 won). Set a bottle of wine in the mini-fridge to chill, drag the room chairs out onto the balcony, and kick back to enjoy the view as the evening sets in!

The Stanford Hotel & Resort is not in Andong city centre itself - it is about a 20-30 minute taxi ride from Andong Train station, so it is in an isolated area, with limited shops/restaurants. It does have a 24 hour convenience store in the hotel, and bakery/cafe. It also has a restaurant, which we ate in, and enjoyed their food. The Stanford Hotel lacks in basics for a 4 star hotel - doesn't offer any shower cap, iron/iron board in the room etc. However, if you want a quiet location in the country, this place will cater for that. It's closer to Hahoe Village, than to Andong City. The hotel is nice and has good sized rooms. Would stay here again for a relaxing and quiet stay.

Back again looking back on the reviews my one was the last recent one from last year. We stayed here again as it’s the race hotel for the triathlon everything I put last time was the same great coffee and cafe in lobby hard to communicate with the staff they don’t speak a lot of English. We had a suite this time which was very nice and faced out to the walking track and see not the town which we preferred. Quite pricey but good location for triathlon. The strawberry yogurt smooties and blueberries ones were amazing!!! As the coffee
