The Hampton Inn suites in Sherman Texas was very nice and clean. Staff and guests were friendly. Breakfast was better than expected. The swimming pool was well maintained and pleasant to sit by and read a book. Our stay was 4 days. Left feeling great about the accommodations. And the rates were very reasonable.

This hotel is less than a year old, so our expectations were high. They were met. The hotel still had a new smell to it and the room was very clean. This hotel is less than a year old, so our expectations were high. They were met. The hotel still had a new smell to it and the room was very clean. The pleasant surprise we had was the friendliness of the staff, from the people at the front desk to the people who prepared and stocked the breakfast buffet and finally to the manager who checked us out. To a person, it was apparent that they were proud to work at this hotel. We’ll return to this hotel if we use that route on a future vacation.

“A really good experience, but arrive before dark if you can”

I had only two small problems here. 1. I arrived late at night and the parking lot appeared to be completely full. There were cars parked in a dirt field just adjacent to the hotel parking lot, but I couldn't see the entrance to the field from the street, due to almost no lighting on the stree… Plus

I had only two small problems here. 1. I arrived late at night and the parking lot appeared to be completely full. There were cars parked in a dirt field just adjacent to the hotel parking lot, but I couldn't see the entrance to the field from the street, due to almost no lighting on the street. I pulled into the paved lot, not knowing what else to do, and I found literally the only empty spot in the lot. Whew. 2. The check-in clerk and I had a misunderstanding during my check-in. I probably didn't explain my situation clearly. The result was that my credit card was charged twice. It took some doing to unwind the misunderstanding, but the desk clerk called Expedia, figured out whatever was necessary on their end and then reversed the second charge. He was a a gem. Thanks, Jesse, for following through. Everything else about my stay was wonderful. The room was clean, comfortable and lovely. Hot breakfast was very nice. I'd stay here again, but I'd try to arrive before dark.

Good Clean room and bathroom; a/c works with a good fan speed; good WiFi; desk chair raises to a good height and has arm rests, but it tilts backwards too easily; enough sockets at the desk area. Good Clean room and bathroom; a/c works with a good fan speed; good WiFi; desk chair raises to a good height and has arm rests, but it tilts backwards too easily; enough sockets at the desk area. Breakfast is good; the only problem is the oatmeal is either too thick or way too watery. Not good One shelf/drawer unit that is just big enough for one suitcase and no luggage jack for a second suitcase; the stupid sliding barn door to cover the bathroom entry and no latch to keep the door from being opened; what happens in the bathroom does not stay in the bathroom; useless "art" on the wall next to the shower instead of a towel shelf/rod unit to store and hang towels for reuse; the towels are on a wood shelf unit on the wall over the sink area instead of being near the shower; there should be a hand towel rod on the wall by the sink to hang the hand towel to dry; the room door closer is so strong that it literally slams the door shut loudly; my wife has to use a cane and the door shuts so strongly that it came very close to knocking her down.
