“Not expensive and very good”

I liked it very much. The staff is very good, and so is their breakfast. I became a fan of their cha-han. If I go back to Kobe next year, I will definitely stay there again. The bedroom is clean, I had no problem with wi-fi and the location is also very good.

This is a good hotel for a night or two stay in Kobe City, Japan. It's a stones throw away from JR Shin Kobe station on the Shinkansen. The rooms are basic with a single bed, 20 inch TV, ok wifi, a small fridge, hair blower and some other small amenities. There are no cabinets but a small space to hang a couple of shirts and trousers. The rooms are designed for only 1 person each. Breakfast is free and ample with a fairly good amount of variety. The restaurant is quaint and bright. The staff are very friendly, well mannered and dressed professionally. I went on business and the company was on a budget. Instead of choosing the higher class Crown Hotel nearby which charges 5 times more, this was I think better value for money on a short stay. My time was mostly spent outside so the hotel room was really only meant for sleeping in. The hotel itself is pretty dated but cleanly maintained. I would certainly go back if I was alone and paying for my own hotel. Not suitable for a family with small kids.

I made a special overnight stop in Kobe at the very last minute and picked this hotel as it was a short stroll from the Shin-Kobe station. I ended up in the Green Hill Kobe Urban after missing it due to the lack of obvious signage on the small street it is based at. I had a very basic room with generally old setting and furniture, as reflected throughout the hotel. The staff were very courteous and professional. Overall, it is an ideal place if you are only sleeping in Kobe on a budget and are spending the day outside.

“Perfectly Fine”

I stated here for 3 nights as I was attending a conference nearby. The hotel is tucked away behind a side-street and this means that it is quiet. There were no problems during my stay and the staff were very friendly. I don't know the English amity of the front desk as I spoke to them in Japanese… Plus

I stated here for 3 nights as I was attending a conference nearby. The hotel is tucked away behind a side-street and this means that it is quiet. There were no problems during my stay and the staff were very friendly. I don't know the English amity of the front desk as I spoke to them in Japanese, but I'd be surprised if they didn't have a standard required for everyday tasks. The room as is common in Japanese business hotels was compact but clean. The bathroom was quite small and heavier guests may incur some discomfort. The room was dated and there were tears and small stains on the furniture and walls. The hotel is a 5-10 min walk from Shin-Kobe station and a 10-15 min walk to Sannomiya Station. I would stay there again.

I booked this hotel as I needed 2 more nights in Kobe for a conference I attended. Having initially stayed at ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Kobe for the first 3 nights of the conference, the difference was really stark. Anyway, I chose this hotel because of its proximity to Art Center of Kobe, where the conference is being held. For the usual tourist, I think hotels near Sannomiya would be better as they will be in the center and would give better access to everything. One good thing about this hotel's location was that, since it is near the Kitano area, you could walk to the Nunobiki Herb Garden, as well as the old houses in Kitano. There's also the Kitano Shrine, which is also walking distance from the hotel. The hotel room, aside from small, has very old, dirty carpet. I booked a non-smoking room, but I could still smell traces of cigarettes inside. In fairness to the cleaners, they have a green tea scented spray mist left in the room (maybe in all the rooms) to be used for this purpose. The bed is comfortable, although a little on the hard side, and the top cover could use a replacement. The toilet, although very very small, is clean and toiletries are provided fresh everyday. There's no closet inside the room; you have to hang your clothes on the 2 clothes hanger on the wall opposite the toilet. There's no safe inside the room as well. You have to request the front desk to keep your valuables while you are out. I observed 2 good things in this hotel during my stay. First is the wifi; it was strong and available all throughout. The second one is the breakfast spread. Considering that this hotel is only 2 stars, I thought that the breakfast choices are better compared to similar hotels. Hotel staff are nice and approachable, although they really struggled talking to me in English.
