Comfort hotel Tendo surprised us in so many ways and definitely exceeded our expectations!!!! In terms of affordability, location, service and comfort they exceeded our marks way and beyond!!! We were looking for a place in Tendo, Yamagata Prefecture Japan as our base to visit Ginzan Onsen and Zao Monsters!!! While looking through different platforms we found in Agoda Comfort hotel Tendo - and what caught our attention is the fact that it has Good reviews that says perfect location and its one of the cheapest around the area!!! At the same time, it is the Emperor’s Bday weekend so prices in other places like Tokyo are sky high!!! Without any hesitations, we booked our 2 night stay here and glad we did it!!! We booked Double bed room with breakfast at just 58 SGD++ nothing could get better than this. We also have a great view of the city with the snow capped Zao mountains towering over the background. The room at 13 sqm is definitely bigger and comfortable than similar types of rooms in other hotels with smaller capacities. The hotel is close to JR Tendo station from the West exit and go down the stairs turn right on the first street or via the Bus interchange also on the right side. The place is very laidback and serene totally opposite of what were accustomed to Tokyo or Osaka which we are delighted to experience. Its still winter but when we arrived its quite sunny at single digits and beginning to feel like spring already. There were remnants of snow fall from the previous days lingering all over the streets. The hotel is near Family mart, JR tendo also has kiosks and restaurant inside. The hotel lobby is huge and so spacioius. We checkedin just right on time and we got our room right away. It was fast and smooth and the front desk answered all our queries and speaks good English!!! They provide the sleeping robes and extra toiletries ammenity kits at the lobby for your perusal. Our room was booked at 9F and it was very clean, ready, pleasant and surprisingly huge for a 13 sqm. The room has grey carpeting, small wardrobe with clothes hangers, sanitizer spray, shoe horn and compartments to your left. Toilet with Tub is next and quite big as well. Water heating work perfectly and pressure is strong. Japanese bidet is perfectly working. They have a huge mirror and cups plus full on complimentary toiletries containers which we loved the smell and texture. The tub is easy to fill and drain and the water heating is perfectly set not too hot nor cold. Towels are also clean and comfy. We used the tub quite often and it really relaxes us!!! Next is the brown wooden study table which is quite wide and we could put a lot of things on it. There glass, cups and kettle are on the compartment at right side of the table. They have desk phone here, wall mirror, power outlet and small TV with lots of local channels. They also have a grey cushioned chair here and mini white fridge as well. Next is our favourite part of the room - the huge double bed. Wow oh wow the mattress and blankets are very clean, soft and comfy!!! The pillows are fluffy and smooth!!! Its one of the best beds we have for a budget hotel!!! There’s power outlets on the right, table lamp and control switches. The bed has a wooden headrest which is comfy too. Then next to our bed is the window with a view of the city and Zao mountains nothing could compare to this lovely view especially in the morning when we wake up the mountains are towering and beautiful!!! If you’re 2 persons you could come out of the bed from the foot side and there’s enough space there to move and put your things. Heating is centralized in the room and has the perfect temp!! We have the most comfortable Double bed here in Comfort hotel Tendo!!! Finally, this Excellent review wont be complete without talking about the most delicious and exceptional breakfast we had!!! Their breakfast items were delicious, fresh and impeccable!!! One of the most unique Japanese inspired items we’ve ever had!!! Located at their restaurant at the lobby they have a view of the street and its snow outside. There are wooden dining tables spread across the area. They cater a lot of Japanese breakfast choices but they also have some western. I loved the mackerel, rice, salads, veggies, and fruits. Coffee is machine made but tastes fresh. Fruit juices are also fresh!!! I also loved their Eggplants, broccoli, sausage, scramble eggs and croissants!! We had the best breakfasr of our stay in Tendo because of Comfort Hotel!!!
